About

How K-12 News works

How K-12 News finds, summarizes and links K-12 education news back to its original sources.

Monitoring trusted sources

K-12 News monitors primary and trusted education sources: district and school newsrooms, state education agencies, education service agencies, associations, nonprofits, universities and research organizations.

Three kinds of news

Stories are discovered by our monitoring, submitted by organizations (free of charge for schools and nonprofits), or created by K-12 News. Every story is labelled with how it reached us.

Summaries that link to the original

K-12 News summarizes each development and links readers to the original source. Original publishers retain ownership of their original reporting.

Analysis, signals and inspiration

Where appropriate, K-12 News adds analysis (why a development matters), signals (official updates from organization channels) and inspiration (what other schools could learn). These are clearly separated from the news itself and always link back to the original story.

Focus

K-12 News prioritizes US K-12 education.
